  • Workflows on DesignSync can be configured to support a project’s requirements and way of working.

    Workflows on DesignSync support:

    • State Transitions: Artefacts on DesignSync can be progressed through a workflow from one state to another (such as WIP or Shared or any custom state that a project uses) based on certain conditions.
    • DesignSync also lets projects configure a group of people that need to be notified (via e-mail) at each stage of a state transition, such a group of users (who can belong to a certain Role) who need to perform content checks for a document that is in a particular state.
    • E-mail notifications can be configured according to a project’s requirements such that each time a state transition occurs, a notification is triggered to a particular Role within DesignSync or a specific person.
    • When progressing artefacts through the workflow, DesignSync offers support for validation at each state, and users can configure the next steps in a workflow for both a positive as well as a negative outcome at a state.
    • Workflows in DesignSync can be setup so that only users belonging to certain Roles will be able to transition a file from one state to another. Workflows can also be setup so that only users who belong to certain roles will be able to approve or reject an artefact’s transition to a particular state.
    • DesignSync offers robust security and ensures integrity of an artefact in a workflow by enforcing file-locks when a workflow is in progress, so that it cannot be modified in particular states.
